Snow marks

When snow starts melting, some snow marks at the surface of mountains here show up. People start plowing rice fields when they find the snow marks here, it's a kind of sign for local people here to prepare for it.
The one in the left circle is "Shirokakiuma" which is the origin of the name of this place "Hakuba". The left one is a chicken. Some say it's a Japanese anthelope but it looks more like a chicken to me.
